A method is presented for the resolution of urinary 17-ketosteroids (17-KS) by gasliquid chromatography (GLC) for clinical application. Hot acid hydrolysis with sulfuric acid is followed by ether extraction, 1 N NaOH wash, and NaOH pellets to serve for both purifying and drying agent.
